Harry Potter Midnight Showings

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 was reported to have earned $24 million from its midnight showing in 3,700 theaters in the U.S. and Canada.

According to reports, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 landed on the third spot on the all-time list for midnight debut. Last summer’s “Eclipse” ranks first with a whopping $30 million from its midnight showings, and 2009′s “New Moon” is a close second with $26.3 million.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is expected to get more than $100 million through Sunday, which would make it only the second “Potter” film to achieve that feat (2005′s “Goblet of Fire” tallied $102.7 million in its opening frame).
